Art is a creative way of expressing who you are and who you would like to become; a way of showing your emotions, ideas, and attitude towards life, and a way to open up to the endless possibilities of the world.
This past semester, I have realized that I need to work on my projects in a longer span of time rather than rushing through them the last few days before they're due. Also, I feel like I need to come up with a more successful way to brainstorm ideas, because I always seem to have trouble starting my projects. My favorite project that I have done so far is my text project. I'm happy with what I came up with, and feel like it really represents my personality as well as my love for music. My worst project this semester by far is my color project, which I did an acrylic painting of a guitar. I really struggled coming up with an idea with this one, therefore resulting in a project that was rushed and not very well planned out.
I think I have improved in incorporating music in my artwork - which is something I've always wanted to try doing. I feel like the music theme to all my projects is a strong one to continue with. I need to work on my patience with art - I get aggravated too easily when my piece is not going the way I want
it to.
Next semester I really want to work with more photography. I love editing pictures and taking them, so maybe I can incorporate that more into my art. For my mapping project, I hope to use photography.
When people look at my art, I want them to see my personality through it. I want it to reflect who I am as a person and for them to see the things I enjoy in life. When they look at my art, I want them to know it's mine.
For the installation project, I think we will all contribute an equal amount of time and work. I feel like my group is really strong and creative, so we will come up with something awesome. For the walls, we plan on putting up huge pieces of paper painted black and splattered with neon colors - this will probably be what I work on for a while. Also, as a group, we are covering parts of the ceiling with marbles. We have also developed more ideas that we have yet to decide who is doing what, but I have a feeling our installation is going to turn out really nicely.
